So i went home last May because it's time to be with my mother and sisters and brother and in laws and cousins of all shades and colors.It was both a time of rejoicing and unwantedly also for mourning.Pastor Martin's 60th birthday was a grand celebration.But the shock of first cousin Ramon Rojas dying by bullets was a reason for widespread family grieving.In between are feelings and emotions of all kinds and imaginings.How true then are the words of an ancient preacher,so i quote Ecclesiastis chapter 3. "There is a time for everything,a season for every activity under heaven.A time to be born and a time to die..."
May 22,6am @ the check in terminal of PAL my phone rang...I heard my first cousin saying "saan ka na Day? Ang malas naman ng uwi mo? " It was bad news! Vice Mayor Ramon Rojas,also my first cousin died just a few minutes before my cousin called.
May 24,5pm we had a service at the house of Vice Mayor Rojas.I was privileged to join a trio for a special number.
Next day,May 25,a second cousin of mine was scheduled to be buried at 3pm.Buti na lang i was on vacation.I attended.My chance to say hello to cousins and friends.Gov.Niel Tupas of Iloilo who happened to be our Uncle was there too. . May 26,10 am a birthday celebration started.This is the reason why Shing and i went to Iloilo for a vacation.It was the 60th birthday of my brother in law,Pastor Martin Sanchez. Shing and i were the MC of the program.
May 27,10 am,we went to the cemetery because it was the birthday of our brother who died 16years ago.
May 28,9 am,my phone rang again.I heard the same voice i heard at the check in terminal of PAL. "Day,ahay,wala na si Tita Linda.Namatay kaninang madaling araw".
With all these things happening within a period of one week,I stopped to ponder on where I stand."Be still,said the Lord.Know that I am God".
